Eli Lilly & Company: Major Product Launch We saved our client a LOT of money and they left with a much better product. This project is a great example of the expertise Blue Ace Media brings to the table. We were asked to shoot a Great Debate-style program for Lilly to highlight a new product for the company-wide launch. Another media production company had suggested the shooting take place on-location at Lilly over the course of a number of days and then go through a week-long post-production editing process to "create" the look of an in-studio CNN-type of program - much like national election coverage. The cost was going to be astronomical. Well, we had a better - and LESS expensive - idea in mind. We used our local High Definition-capable TV Broadcast studio here in Bloomington and built a custom-designed set to Lilly's specifications. We took a day to light and rehearse (without talent) and then we met to roll tape at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. By 2:30 p.m. we were done, the tape was directed "live to tape" and therefore needed little (if any) post-production editing. We worked to create all the graphics BEFORE we shot - so everything was put on tape "live" as it was happening. That was it - no on-location sound issues or hours spent moving equipment or trying to dress up a room to look like a TV studio. The president of Blue Ace Media, Jo Throckmorton, has years of live broadcast exprience - and directed news broacast for the CBS-TV affiliate in Cincinnati before coming to Indiana. Having that experience made a big difference in this project. Lilly talked to other media production companies about this project - but they came to us because they saw we had a solid production plan, great experience, and just as importantly, we found a way to create a far superior product for less money than anyone else.

Documentary: A Legacy of Hope Why does the Malcolm X Institute exist on the campus of a small, liberal arts college in Crawfordsville, Indiana? That question, and many more, are addressed in the documentary film, LEGACY OF HOPE. Jo Throckmorton began filming in the spring of 2005. It is a story of the creation, early challenges and continuing relevance of a cultural center devoted to black studies on a campus composed primarily of white students. The film took over one year to complete and includes interviews with Horace Turner - the first director of the MXI, Andy Ford - then president of the college, Daryl Johnson, Olympic track coach Rob Johnson, Indianapolis Assistant Deputy Mayor Eugene Anderson, Current MXIBS Director Dr. Tim Lake, and founding MXIBS member Keith Nelson. The film is narrated by Wabash alumnus Keith Veal. Blue Ace provided:
